Bonjour mon petite amis!
First things first, massive apology for the huge delays in posting. I have been a horrendously busy girl revising for exams, preparing for endless controlled assessments and just the normal teenage girl problems that you don't really need me to go into...
BUT, I am back with a bang because I have a few posts up my sleeve that will be coming your way, the first of which is this one!
So last Saturday I headed off to the Clothes Show Live at the NEC in Birmingham and, forgetting about the annoying hoards of people that can't say excuse me (suppressing a rant right now), I had such a good time! I did lots of shopping, met a few celebs, saw some amazing collections by newly graduated fashion students and watched the fashion show which was by far the highlight of the day.

This was the Diet Coke Image Catwalk that hosted the mini fashion shows for the graduate fashion collections that I will post pictures of in another post as I took so many pictures because I loved everything so damn much!
It was amazing getting to see Henry Holland (he hosted the show) who has been a massive inspiration to me for so long now and we were so lucky to get such good seats! We were sat on the second row to the left of the stage (but I was very jealous of the people in the press section, they were face on and so close!). You may also recognise BB Kaye who starred in Dirty Sexy Things on E4 a few years ago, and Jade Thompson who won Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model a couple of years ago.
Not only were there so many gorgeous models, but there were loads of amazing dancers that made the show so much better! See if you can find any vids on YouTube!
I have only added a few photos of the collections themselves because I was too busy enjoying the show and our camera decided it didn't like photographing moving models so that's why they are not so great quality...
The Clothes Show often tends to focus of showcasing the massive trends of this year rather than predicting next season's trends but I think a lot of these styles will be seen next year.

This collection was a wintery dream of tartan, tweed and fur. Makes me feel all cosy just looking at it.

This collection reminded me of the sports luxe trend and the oversized, monochrome American football tees that everyone has been wearing lately and I am in love with the second guy's jumper, please Santa?
This section was a beautiful golden and glamorous mix of  shimmering sequins and lycra, delicious.
The next section was filled with sexy, sultry blacks, including lace, ruffles and fur. Giving me great dress ideas for Christmas and new years.
This collection was all about festival style and was probably my favourite. So much print clashing and iconic styling, just my cup of tea. Plus is gave me massive festival blues...
To finish off all the models showed off their toned tummies and amazing abs in a sea of burgundy silk and cream lace in the nightwear and lingerie collection.
So that was my day in (slightly terrible) pictures and I hope to one day be showing off my own designs and collections for everyone to see, a girl can dream.
I hope you guys liked the post, let me know in the comments if you went and what your favourite bits were and also let me know what you want to see more of on the blog!

Its my birthday in a couple of weeks and I have been on the look out for things for family to get me or to buy with my birthday money and I came to the horrific realisation that I do not actually own a leather jacket?!
Now, don't get me wrong, I have ALWAYS wanted that perfect leather jacket. The one with the quilted sleeves, a cool lining, detachable fur collar and just the right amount of zips and buckles... hmm sounds good doesn't it? The thing is, I can never find it! Or at least when I do, I don't have enough money to buy it!
So I've been on a mission to find the perfect leather jacket and I thought I would make a new blog feature out of it: Mia's Must Haves!
This blog feature is basically me finding an assortment of must-have items for different types of people so you don't have to do any of the work, don't say I don't treat you well ;) enjoy!
Yves Saint Laurent - £3,165 // Acne - £1,025 // Ark - £75
These jackets are for that person with a little bit more money than most of us because there is NO WAY I could ever afford them! With the exception of the last one maybe, I only put it in this section because it is not even real leather and thought that was a bit steep compared to other faux leather jackets! - £145 // - £1,620 // - £1,195
These jackets are for the more outrageous and ballsy of you lot! I am totally in love with the tartan one but I would never have the guts to wear a bright white studded one! As much as it is a statement piece, I don't think I could ever pull it off...

H&M - £30 // Newlook - £40 // River Island - £100
This section is for my fellow bargain hunters out there. You want a leather jacket right? But you're SO not prepared to pay a couple of hundred quid for one! So, I've found a few that could pass off as expensive version and this River Island one is real leather too! £100 for real leather is actually quite good so grab one before they're gone! I am really tempted to snap up the H&M one...
Topshop - £58 // Topshop - £375 // River Island - £70
And these are my favourite of the bunch. I tried the first Topshop one on instore and it just looks awesome on and I love the quilted texture on the arms. The second one is a tad out of my price range but it is just the right balance of 'understated' and 'out there'  if you know what I mean? I also fell in love with this River Island beauty. I don't normally shop in River Island but they actually have really good coats and jackets for good prices so I shall definitely be keeping an eye out for more beauties like this.
I hope you've enjoyed the new feature and let me know which are your favourites and any recommendations you might have in the comments!

Black cami - Matalan // 'Mom' jeans - DIY hand me downs //
Belt - Levi // Chelsea boots - Office // Gold chain - DIY
001 // I've been seeing a lot of monochromes and clean or plain looking trends recently and I thought I would try it out, for a friend's birthday meal, but with a bit of Mia injected in. I have been in love with these high waisted baggy jeans ever since my nan gave them to me (they should be called 'nan' jeans) but they were a tad big, an ugly colour and were flared... but I knew they had potential! So I waved my magic fashion wand and they looked just like any Topshop pair after I had bleached them, taken in the ankles, rolled them up and added a belt. Why pay £50 for a pair when you can have them for free hey?
002 // Being such a fan of DIYing and saving money, instead of paying £20 for a gold chain in Topshop or on Asos, I got my dad to run me down to B&Q and I found the nicest looking chain and to be completely honest I preferred the squared edge to the rounded ones in most shops! It turned out to be about £4 a metre which meant I could make a couple of necklaces by simply tying two ends together with ribbon and some bracelets by doing the same for a measly four quid! I really recommend trying this out because not only do you save yourself A TON of money, you have a completely unique statement necklace that will be the envy of all your friends (I'm talking from experience here...)
003 // In other news, I have been having a good summer holiday so far, enjoying multiple parties, sleepovers and beach trips, although word of warning if you are going out in the sun for the whole day in just a bikini... please put sun cream on. Now this isn't going to be a rant about how its bad for you and how you'll get skin cancer (you still might though) but I have had the WORST burns this week and I haven't been able to sleep and somehow, I didn't even know that this was possible, but I sunburnt my lips and lets just say the consequences have been ugly... ugly in the form of a mouth full of cold sores :( so if you guys have any tips or tricks to get rid of cold sores quickly then they will be much appreciated otherwise I will end up spending the rest of the holidays locked in my room crying in the mirror...

Blouse - F&F at Tesco // Shorts - Vintage Levis DIYed // Belt - Levi //  Boots - Doc Marten // Socks - Topshop //
Bag - FCUK // Sunglasses - Asda // Bindi - eBay // Necklace - DIY
001 // Firstly I apologise for the lack of outfit posts but now that it is the summer holidays I actually get to wear my own clothes!
002 // So this is what I wore to the Latitude Festival in Suffolk last Saturday and OH MY GOD it was amazing! We didn't manage to see all the acts I wanted to see but we did get to see Daughter, some small random acts that I can't remember the name of, and we got to the front for Everything Everything and we were so close to the front for Alt J. I am telling you now, if you don't already listen to Alt J and have never heard them live, get tickets now! They are unbelievable live and their songs are so bassy!
003 // Unfortunately we didn't camp for the weekend and so we missed amazing acts such as Disclosure, Foals, Bloc Party, Local Natives, The Maccabees and Rudimental so I am definitely going to try and camp next year because I'm sure the acts will be just as good!
004 // Seeing as the weather here in good ol' Blighty has actually been pretty good this summer so far, we decided not to go on holiday this year but instead buy a HOT TUB! Yes, be jealous. While you guys are stressing about where your passport is or how long your flight has been delayed, I will be lounging under the jets in a brand new Jacuzzi. Have fun!
Love ya'll x
